Tried Thai food for the first time and it was here. I don't want to try it anywhere else! Greeted with a warm welcome and seated immediately! Small restaurant but warm, cozy, and has an authentic feel! Favorite thing to order is the Pad See Ew and a good ol' Thai iced tea!
Delicious and affordable spot in Greenpoint with friendly and efficient service! Highly recommend sharing a variety of plates with friends; my group of four shared the khanom jeeb, pad see ew with beef, massaman curry with shrimp, bamee puu, khao mok gai (chicken biryani), sticky rice with custard, and thai tea tart (+ a bottle of sake). It's hard to pick a favorite because everything was so delicious! Great service was icing on the cake. I'll be back to Little Tiffin :)
One of my favorite lunch specials in Greenpoint, and my go-to Thai spot in the neighborhood! I've been here a handful of times and this was my first time trying the green curry. My friend got the red curry, which he reported was fantastic. The green curry was deliciously spicy (the eggplant is an excellent touch) and the vegetable broth appetizer was so wonderfully flavorful -- love the heavy use of ginger! Overall, this place has great dishes with ample portion size (their pad Thai and fried rice are both fantastic as well), lightning-fast service, and a lovely ambiance that I've never experienced at night but I'd imagine would make for a great date spot. Highly recommend!
I love you, I love you, I love you, Little Tiffin.Delicious food. The spicy Pad Krapow is my favorite comfort food. The service is excellent! I love everyone that works here. The music is so cute and funny. I do love coming by when they're the most quiet, however the time is confidential. I'm not sharing that. Thank you!
Cozy Thai joint with reasonable prices! The pad Thai was enough for two meals for me and it reheats well. We came at peak dinner time on a Saturday and had no problem getting a table. Service was super quick and the food came out in record time!
An authentic Thai restaurant in Brooklyn? Yes please! This intimate place offers family recipes from Thailand, plentiful portions, and balanced spice-taste ratios. The bathroom is cool too, with photos and ads from Thailand in the 1970's. Quirky, cool, and authentic!
Did you know that tiffin means a light midday meal.. yah! It's a British expression for light luncheon or tea time. So, I decided to have a little tiffin at Little Tiffin in the heart of Greenpoint. Yes, it meant some schlepping, Jewish euphemism for " oy vey long way", from Bay Ridge... but it was worth every mile. I was in the mood for two things for my little tiffin: 1. spending my afternoon in Greenpoint and 2. eating Thai food. I entered this cozy, sweet and peaceful establishment and it looked like every Yelp photo posted! Just a great way to spend a breezy spring afternoon and also knew they serve a $12 lunch menu from 12-4, thus I took advantage of this bargain lunch deal. I haven't had Pad See Ew in a long time and decided to order it with chicken( you can get veggies, tofu or shrimp) and a small Thai salad ( other choice was clear Vegetable broth). I also ordered a Thai iced tea. The food, served to me by Nancy, came out piping hot in five minutes. Chopsticks were the utensils of choice.. practice.. practice.. practice. First the Pad See Ew: delicious chicken with wide noodles, eggs and Chinese broccoli, perfectly spiced and just the right size portion. The Thai salad was fresh and the peanut sauce was scrumptious. The Thai iced tea was a bit different, usually, depending where you go it can border between very sweet, sweet or a tad sweet. Their version was just a tad sweet but still refreshing. The menu has traditional Thai food entrees from dumplings to rice to Pad Thai. The service was spot on and as I ate my lunch they were handling multiple online orders. So why does my little tiffin rate five stars: Easy answer! Delicious home cooked traditional Thai cuisine in the heart of Greenpoint. Shout out to Nancy for the great service! If you want to experience a little tiffin for yourself then, hop on a G train to Greenpoint stop and exit at India Street and walk 3 minutes and then you are in front of this gem!
If you're looking for an authentic taste of Thailand, this is the spot. Every bite reminded me of the freshness and flavors when I was eating in Thailand and I haven't had that in awhile! The appetizers were amazing. I'd get both the tofu and fried dumplings again. The sauces they were paired with were perfectly fitting too. We decided to try something new other than pad thai or fried rice so we got the BAMEE PUU, which was very good. Not spicy. There were large clumps of crab and a really good broth on the side. They also have both Leo and Singha Thai beers! The ambiance is very nice, it's small and very vibey inside. The service was very fast, somewhat to a fault. Which is the only reason I took off 1-star. We were at promptly and not told there was a reservation coming after, so right after we finished our food - but still had full drinks we were Super rushed out of our table which was unfortunate/inconvenient. So, we had to stand by the bar til someone got up (it's pretty small, only 6 chairs up there). Otherwise, it was very good and because of that experience I would recommend making a reservation , which I hope would allow you to sit at your table longer til you finish all your food and drinks...
My husband and I discovered this restaurant while out bike riding one day in Greenpoint. Ever since then we love coming back. We sat twice outdoors during the summer time and once indoor during the fall. They're always busy so I recommend checking with the restaurant. The restaurant is cozy and intimate with dimmed lighting. I love tne bathroom decor.. it's filled with vintage photos and makes it enjoyable to stare at while you wash your hands. We tried several dishes on the menu but our must haves whenever we come are the Crab Fried Rice and Beef Pad See Ew. Then we usually add in 1 or 2 more appetizers to complete our me. Dishes are plentiful and always fill us up. Can't wait to dine in again!
Little tiffin is a cute little Thai restaurant, this place can get packed really quickly, however we were able to score some seats at the bar! The employees were friendly and answered our questions. The bartender was pretty friendly as well, he made us our drinks as soon as we placed our orders. My husband ended up getting some kind of noodle dish and I ended up getting the chicken pad Thai. The food was good, the place was cute and staff members were so friendly! Definitely check this place out if you're in the area!
